Happy Holidays from Chic Pixel!

Merry Christmas and happy holidays to you all! Thank you so much for reading my ramblings and giving me a reason to post this horribly cute card that I've been hanging onto for years.

I probably won't be posting anything for a day or two, but I would love to hear how you all are going to spend your time off! What games will you be playing, and what are you hoping might be waiting for you  under the Christmas tree tomorrow morning?

I know for a fact that I've got Mario Kart 7 waiting for me, and I'm itching to play! As soon as I get it going I'm going to make an official Chic Pixel community, so I hope some of you can play with me!

I've got a huuuuge backlog I would love to get started in on, but I'm at the point where I have so many games I'd like to play that I literally feel stuck and don't know where to start! Since I just got the Wii, I'd like to dig in to Skyward Sword... But honestly, some comments I've been hearing about the 5 hour tutorial and frustrating motion controls have given me slight cold feet. Surprisingly, I've been playing a lot of Just Dance 2, which came free with my Wii. Er... Yeah.

Happy holidays to you, Anne!

As for me, I have completed all of my GC duties and have nothing on the plate for the next couple of weeks, at least. I may play a little of this or a little of that, but I'm not going to be starting anything significant and I don't expect to write any major reviews.

Honestly, I think I may just take the time to step away from games for a little bit and try to wrap up a major non-games writing project.

Besides that, it's just a joy to be around my family and spend time with them. Sounds a little simple, but it's true!

Happy holidays to you, too, Anne!

Where did that card come from, by the way, and why have you hung onto it?

As for what I'm doing and what I hope to receive from "Santa": I'm currently being as lazy as possible while also socializing a bit with friends and family. I'm actually at my parents' home in Wisconsin, and I didn't bring my DS or PSP with me, so no games while I'm here. Well, until tonight -- which is when I hope to receive either a red or pink 3DS from my parents.

Should that happen, I will quickly get it going and then buy FreakyForms and Pushmo from the eShop. After that, I'll order Mario Kart 7 and probably Super Mario 3D Land and have them shipped to our home.

Speaking of MK7: I can't wait to play you online at some point, and play in your community. I may start a community over at TGG, too, although that isn't a given.

Looking forward to hear about your gifts and about your experiences with Just Dance and Skyward Sword!

Thanks, Brad!

That sounds lovely, honestly. My husband and I like to sit around and play games together, so doing that is our "bonding" time for the most part... But stepping away from games to spend time with your family sounds like the best way to spend the holidays!

Though I see you're trying out some Layton... ;)

Hi Bryan! Thanks so much for commenting, as always!

You didn't bring your DS or PSP?! Shock and horror! Hahaha. Let me know which 3DS you get! I really ought to download FreakyForms, too...

Actually, the card is just an image I found at a Japanese artist's website, but I think it's so lovely! I wish I could be artistic like that...

I'm having lots of fun with MK7 so far! I bet if you made a community it'd get a lot more patronage than anything I'd do... Since you have a lot more readers than I ;)

Oh, do let me know when you get Crimson Spell in the mail! It should arrive sometime soon...

Hello there! I just recently stumbled across your blog and I have to say, it's really well put together and it's really a treat, especially since it fits my style very well (Who isn't a cutesy nerd at heart?) I just want to say that you've done a superb job, and happy holidays.
